Karate Belts
Karate belts for training and competition
Karate practitioners demonstrate their level through a system of colored belts, also called “obi”.
As they progress through their training, they switch to a new color to show that they have progressed. Each style of karate has its own classification system and, within them, there are variations between organizations and even between individual dojos.
In our karate shop online you will find all the colors, sizes and brands to choose the one you like the most. Remember that they are the same belts as Judo or Taekwondo. Within the specialty of karate, the brands that are most often liked are Kamikaze and Arawaza.

Karate GI
Within karate equipment, you will find the uniform (Karategi), often mistakenly referred to as a kimono, which consists of pants and a jacket. This is the official attire for training or competition. There are two types of karategis:
- Karate UNIFORM for Katas: This type has a heavier fabric weight, making it a somewhat heavier suit to give a sense of power and "kime" to karate techniques.
- Karategis SUIT for Kumite: These have a lighter fabric weight than those for katas, making the suit much lighter to allow for speed and mobility during combat.
There are many brands on the market, and you need to be careful about which ones are approved and which are not. For competitions, it is required that all karate equipment, including the uniforms, be approved.
On our website, you will find approved brands such as Arawaza, Adidas, Daedo, Nkl, Utuk, Kamikaze, among others. You will also find more affordable, non-approved uniforms in our physical store, Club de la Lucha, for those who are just starting out and looking for something more economical.
If you have any doubts or more specific questions, do not hesitate to contact us, and our martial arts experts will assist you.
