  • Judo belts

In Judo, the belt not only helps to secure the Judo gi but also indicates the level of the judoka's learning. The belt color darkens as one progresses in Judo practice.

Martial arts belts are valid for any specialty, although some brands are associated with specific martial arts. In the case of judo, the brands that are most popular are NKL and Mizuno.

We offer belts in both children's and adult sizes, available in various colors, including both two-tone and solid colors. We advise against washing the belt in a washing machine.

    WHAT IS A JUDO GI?
Also known as judogi or judo gi, it is the traditional uniform used for training and competition in the martial art known as judo.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A JUDO UNIFORM. IS THE TERM “JUDO KIMONO” CORRECT?

Although the term kimono is not technically correct, it is the most common and colloquial way to refer to the specific uniform used for martial arts practice—in this case, judo.

    • The jacket is characterized by being made with rice-grain weave fabric, which provides greater resistance to gripping and pulling.

    • Judo pants are heavier than karate pants and include reinforced fabric in the knee area.

The main difference between the various training judo uniforms is the fabric weight (grammage):

Judo uniforms with a weight of 300 gms

    1. These are the lightest uniforms with the basic characteristics of a judo suit.

    2. Sizes: from 1 m to 160 cm.

    3. The jacket may be fully rice-grain weave or mixed fabric.

    4. Available only in white.

    5. Usually includes a white judo belt.

    6. Beginner-level judo uniform for children.

Judo uniforms with a weight of 360 gms

    1. Slightly heavier than the 300 gms uniforms.

    2. Sizes: from 1 m to 160 cm.

    3. The jacket is always full rice-grain weave.

    4. Available in white or blue. Some manufacturers even produce it in pink.

    5. Beginner-level judo uniform for children and youth.

Judo uniforms with a weight of 450 gms

    1. The most commonly used uniform for daily training at beginner level.

    2. Available sizes: from 120 cm to 210 cm (depending on the brand).

    3. Available in white or blue.

CAN A TRAINING JUDO UNIFORM BE USED FOR OTHER MARTIAL ARTS?

Yes. The white judo uniform is also commonly used to train other martial arts such as aikido.

CAN YOU TRAIN JUDO WITH A KARATE UNIFORM?

No. Karate uniforms are not designed to withstand pulling or gripping techniques.
The fundamental difference between a karate uniform and a judo uniform is the heavier fabric weight and the rice-grain weave jacket, which makes the judo uniform much more durable.

    RECOMMENDATIONS AND TIPS

    • Keep in mind that judo uniforms shrink after the first washes, so it is advisable to buy one size larger.

    • Wash in cold water in the washing machine and do not tumble dry.

  • Judo GI Competition

In this section, you will find judo kimonos (judo gi) with higher weights:

    - We offer judo gis starting from 550 grams up to 750 grams. These judo suits can be used for daily training and competitions that do not require IJF approval. They are notable for their weight and stiffness, and are commonly used for daily training at intermediate or experienced levels. It is important to regularly train with this weight before using it in competition because you need to get used to the feel, weight, and rigidity.

You can find them in blue and white, with intermediate sizes available. These judogis are made from cotton, and the jacket fabric is known as "rice grain" due to its appearance, which resembles grains of rice, providing greater resistance to grips. We generally recommend choosing one size larger than your usual size, as many models are not pre-shrunk and may shrink in the first washes. It is advisable to wash in cold water and avoid using a dryer.

    - IJF-approved judo kimonos

The IJF-approved judo gis are easily recognized by the certification label on the lapel. This certification ensures that the judo suits used in official competitions have the same characteristics for all competitors in terms of weight and dimensions. The most well-known brands usually offer one or two models at most with IJF approval, available in intermediate sizes and in blue or white.

We work with the best brands, such as Tagoya, Adidas, and Mizuno, among others.
